Last night we had to say goodbye to Char..... it all happened so fast.... at 6 she was just not right.. by 7:30 we were headed back home from the vet in tears....... She bloated and torsed. Not sure why, but given her age I was not going to put her thru surgery. Even tho i knew what was going on, i asked for an xray.. guess i needed that extra proof? closure? no idea but I am angry because i didnt make the decision to say good bye sooner and she had to go thru this painful experience. I am sorry baby girl, i failed you after i told you i wouldn't. I am trying to think of the positives even tho that is extremely hard.... she brought so much into my life. Great friends and if it weren't for her i would of never met my good friend Vickie, my dog show family back in the PacNW that i miss dearly (you know who you are), experiencing the dog show world for the first time which was one of my dreams.... shes my first AKC Champion, handled from start to finish by Georgia Hymmen and attained that by going BOB from the classes and beating the #1 dane plus others in the top 10... oh what a day that was, 2 wonderful litters and gave me our first home bred champ.... her personality... which i see so much in Teak, which helps. She was a wild child, athletic, silly .... and most of all she loved me and would do anything for me. We had so many adventures together chichi momma.. i hope you found Jazzy and are running the beach playing like you loved to do. We hope to see a genetic marker someday. My big sweet boy, you left us too soon. When you were born I knew you would be a keeper, I placed you in a home I thought was best for you. 9 months later you came back to me. I swear it was fate. Always a constant shadow. Hated the show ring, but you will always be the champion of my heart. Cause: old age Indy was adopted from the Alger County Humane Society. She was the worst puppy on earth, until we joined the Bay de Noc Kennel Club and started classes. We made a great team and she was first place in her obedience class. She loved to learn and play "obedience dog". She loved to be groomed until her arthritis got to bad. She just didn't want to be touched unless she was being petted. We miss her terribly. She was such a sweet and smart girl. Cause: Osteosarcoma Breeder: Wendy Alleshouse Brook was our first great dane. She is the reason why I continued with this breed. She was my loyal protector, independent, yet loving and very smart. She was a petite girl at only 100# and 30" tall. I miss her to this day. RIP More pictures of Brook
